Digital Dentures
Carefully Crafted Digital Dentures in Walla Walla & College Place Made for You
At Denture Design Studio, we believe that every patient deserves a smile they love. At our College Place dental office, we offer digital dentures, using technology to create greater comfort.
What Are Digital Dentures?
Technology has impacted every aspect of dentistry, from routine examinations to complex surgical procedures. Not only do technological advances help us do a better job of caring for our patients, but they also help patients feel comfortable, save money, and get the smile they want.
Digital dentures are a perfect example. Unlike traditional dentures, digital dentures are created digitally from start to finish. Instead of creating a physical mold of your teeth, our denturists do everything using technology. Whether you need full, partial, or implant dentures, we can create comfortable dentures designed especially for you.
How Are Digital Dentures Made?
In our denture office in College Place, we create digital dentures in just a few simple steps:
- We scan your mouth with a 3D scanner to get a precise image of your oral anatomy.
- We use specialized CAD software to address issues related to fit and spacing and create a healthy and beautiful smile.
- We use a milling machine to personalize digital dentures from a very durable resin.
Try Before you Buy!
After we digitally design your new smile based on your recommendations and digital record, you can put a 3D printed sample of the digital design in your mouth for viewing and request changes. Depending on the quality you selected, you may take your 3D printed sample denture home to further view your new smile. Maybe ask the opinion of friends and family.
Digital Dentures vs Traditional Dentures
Traditional dentures shrink when injecting acrylic. Digital Dentures are created with milling machines and are more than 10X more accurate than a human hair. While you may not see the difference, you can feel the difference of 5 microns of accuracy.

Durability
Digital Dentures are twice as strong. Traditional dentures utilize individual stock denture teeth that are bonded in place. With digital dentures, every tooth is custom, and the teeth are milled in one piece. By connecting the teeth, the dentures are less prone to fracturing.
Digital Denture can be remade
The greatest fear for many denture patients is losing or breaking their dentures, especially while on vacation.
Traditional dentures take weeks to make because they are hand-made. The models used to create these dentures are destroyed in the process. A new denture takes just as long as the first one to make.
With Digital Dentures, a digital record means we can recreate your denture quickly at any time. We can also provide you with a second set for your vacation. Some patients like the general look and feel of their dentures but want a new one due to reasons like bad breath. With digital dentures, we can create an exact copy of your denture with brand new materials.
Who is a Good Candidate for Digital Dentures?
The choice of whether to get digital dentures is an easy one considering that the use of digital technology provides the best fit, comfort, and convenience for denture wearers.
Are you a candidate for digital dentures? Here are some questions to answer to find out:
- Have you experienced significant tooth loss? The loss of a single tooth may be addressed with a dental implant but people who have lost multiple teeth may benefit from getting fitted for partial or full digital dentures.
- Are your gums healthy? Tooth loss and periodontal disease often go together. Your gums need to be reasonably healthy for you to be able to wear digital dentures.
- Is your jawbone healthy? Your jawbone must be strong and healthy enough to support a denture or partial.
If you are unsure whether you are a suitable candidate for digital dentures, we encourage you to make an appointment to come to see our Walla Walla area denturist for a consultation. We will examine your mouth and help you choose the best treatment option for a radiant smile.
